WELCOME TO FAIRVIEW TENNIS CLUB

We are a community tennis club in Mississauga, Ontario affiliated with the City of Mississauga. The club is operated by dedicated volunteers with support from the City of Mississauga.

Fairview Tennis Club is located right in the middle of Dr. Martin L. Dobkin Park: a large 30 acre park in central Mississauga with a soccer field, a softball diamond, a baseball diamond, a play area right beside the tennis courts, and public restroom facilities.

Playing tennis is an excellent sport to maintain your health, fitness, strength and agility. Tennis is a great way to meet people and spend time with friends.

PLAYING DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Players and members should complete the self-assessment provided by the Province prior to each visit to the Community Tennis Club Courts. Club members and staff are expected to stay at home if they are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms, feeling unwell, have travelled outside Ontario during the past 14 days or have had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

To help contain the spread of COVID-19, the City of Mississauga encourages players to observe the guidelines and rules for Community Tennis Courts. See Rules and Regulations.

RE-OPENING: SATURDAY MAY 22, 2021 - PROVINCIAL STAGE 1 RULES

Any person who enters or uses the amenity must maintain a physical distance of at least two metres from any other person who is using the amenity.

However, persons who are all members of the same household or one other person from outside that household who lives alone or a caregiver for any member of the household are not required to maintain a physical distance of at least two metres from each other while in the amenity.

Please turn off the court lights if you are the last player to leave.


REMINDER: TENNIS BALL CYLINDER

Please recycle your tennis balls container. If aluminum, recyclable. If plastic, most of them are made of PET and have an aluminum lid, also recyclable.

Registration forms may be returned with payment by mail (please Include self-addressed stamped envelope).

Upon registering with Fairview Tennis Club, you will receive a key and shoe tag(s). This provides you with access to the courts. The shoe tag must be worn at all times while on court.

Dean Porcellato is our Tennis Club Pro and will be providing lessons for adult and junior members. Two courts will be reserved during weekday mornings, June to September, for lessons for juniors. RULES AND REGULATIONS

CITY OF MISSISSAUGA COMMUNITY TENNIS CLUB GUIDELINES & PROTOCOLS FOR 2021

The Club shall be responsible for ensuring its members, staff and any invitees are informed about and comply with these guidelines and protocols and any future updates, amendments and additional guidelines, protocols or regulations provided by the City or Peel Regional Health.

GREY LOCKDOWN

  1. Members and Club staff must abide by the Covid-19 signage posted by the City
  2. Any person entering/using the facility must maintain a physical distance of at least two metres
  3. Hand sanitizer must be used prior to entering the club, before and after playing and after using common items such as equipment and chairs/benches
  4. Wear a mask or face covering except when playing tennis/pickleball
  5. No outside capacity limits where physical distancing can be maintained
  6. Singles and doubles play supported following safe distance protocols
  7. *Lessons; 1:4 coach to student ratio same household
  8. No guest players or open houses for non-members
  9. No intra/inter club leagues, social events or tournaments
  10. Clubhouses can be accessed for first aid, washroom and hand washing purposes only. Maintenance and cleaning log sheet records to be maintained.
  11. No spectators permitted, however each person under 18 may be accompanied by one parent or guardian

FAIRVIEW TENNIS CLUB RULES & REGULATIONS

Along with the Rules and Regulations which we encourage all members to read and abide by, this is a reminder of the following:

We hope that all members will comply with these rules to make the tennis season this summer more safe and enjoyable for all.

  1. When the courts are fully occupied, the members waiting first in line will always come in and play at Court #1 (nearest to the spectator stand). When the clock hits the 30th or the 60th minute, whichever comes first, all the players in Court #1 will move to Court # 2. The Court # 2 players will move to Court # 3. The Court # 3 players will move to Court # 4. The Court # 4 players will move out of the Courts.
  2. Shoe tags and non-marking tennis shoes must be worn at all times. Appropriate tennis attire is expected. Members are also requested to wear shirts while on the courts.
  3. Upon completion of play, it is the responsibility of the last member leaving the courts to ensure that the entrance gate is securely locked upon departure.
  4. Tournaments, inter-club matches and lessons approved by the Executive shall take priority for court use. Please refer to the website (which will be kept current) or calendar of events.
  5. Juniors will be given priority from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Adult members have priority after 4:00 PM. Juniors will be allowed to play after 4:00 PM, only if playing with a parent or adult legal guardian. Juniors are permitted to play on Saturdays and Sundays, during any open period.
  1. Spectators are NOT allowed inside the fenced court area while games are in progress. Bikes, skateboards and inline or roller skates are also NOT allowed inside the fenced area. Bikes must be kept locked outside the courts in the bike racks provided.
  2. Players and spectators are expected to respect the rights of other players. Shouting, swearing and heckling will not be tolerated.
  3. The practice board on Court 4 is to be used only if players are not using it. Court #4 is designated as the Practice Court when using a basket of tennis balls (i.e., more than 3 or 4 tennis balls), ONLY IF no members are waiting for a court.
  4. Club members or club-appointed court monitors/supervisors will enforce the above rules.

Fairview Tennis Club is located right in the middle of Dr. Martin L. Dobkin Park, behind Father Michael Goetz Secondary School at Central Parkway W & Confederation Parkway.

Dr. Martin L. Dobkin Community Park is a large 30 acre park in central Mississauga with a soccer field, a softball diamond, a baseball diamond, a play area right beside the tennis courts, and public restroom facilities.

You may park in the small parking lot located off Central Parkway W, just west of Confederation Parkway (west of Father Michael Goetz Secondary School). The courts cannot be seen from the parking lot - proceed southward past the baseball diamond to get to the courts.

There is another small parking lot at the south entrance of the park, located off Fairvew Rd W. The tennis courts are northward past the softball diamond and the soccer field.
