Thank You For A Successful 2020 Summer Season

WELCOME TO FAIRVIEW TENNIS CLUB

We are a community tennis club in Mississauga, Ontario operated by volunteers.

Playing tennis is an excellent sport to maintain your health, fitness, strength and agility. Tennis is a great way to meet people and spend time with friends.

Fairview Tennis Club offers:

  • 4 lit hard-surfaced tennis courts
  • bleacher seating
  • a bicycle lock-up area
  • a tennis pro available for lessons

The courts are open every day between the hours of 7 AM to 11 PM during the summer session.


PLAYING DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Players and members should complete the self-assessment provided by the Province prior to each visit to the Community Tennis Club Courts. Club members and staff are expected to stay at home if they are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms, feeling unwell, have travelled outside Ontario during the past 14 days or have had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

To help contain the spread of COVID-19, the City of Mississauga encourages players to observe the guidelines and rules for Community Tennis Courts. See Rules and Regulations.


Location

Fairview Tennis Club is located right in the middle of Dr. Martin L. Dobkin Park, behind Father Goetz High School at Central Parkway & Confederation Parkway.

Dr. Martin L. Dobkin Community Park is a large 30 acre park in central Mississauga with a soccer field, a softball diamond, a baseball diamond, a play area right beside the tennis courts, and public restroom facilities.

PLEASE RECYCLE YOUR TENNIS BALLS CYLINDERS

If aluminum, recyclable. If plastic, most of them are made of PET and have an aluminum lid, also recyclable.

2020 Membership Fees

TYPE FEE DESCRIPTION
Family$100.00 Maximum of 4 persons - 2 adults & 2 juniors per family
Adult $65.00 18 years old and over as of January 1st of the current year
Dual Adult $45.00 Dual membership for Deer Run or Springfield members (Proof of membership required) 25% off Equivalent Adult, Family, or Junior.
Junior: 15 to 18 $30.00 Under 18 years of age as of January 1st of this year
Junior: Under 15 $15.00 Under 15 years of age as of January 1st of this year
Additional Key $5.00

Upon registering with Fairview Tennis Club, you will receive a key and shoe tag(s). This provides you with access to the courts. The shoe tag must be worn at all times while on court.


Registration: Adult and Junior Lessons

Dean Porcellato is our Tennis Club Pro and will be providing lessons for adult and junior members. Two courts will be reserved during weekday mornings when school is out for lessons for juniors. 2021 Annual General Meeting - Virtual

We need your support!  To comply with City guidelines, we need at least 25 member participants excluding executive members. An email with a link to the virtual AGM will be sent via email to current members. Please click on the link and follow the instructions to join the meeting. After the meeting has started, members are free to leave at any time on their own convenience.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

2020 CITY OF MISSISSAUGA COMMUNITY TENNIS COURT GUIDELINES

Mississauga Community Tennis Club members and staff, during the COVID-19 pandemic, must abide by the following Guidelines and Protocols.

Along with the Rules and Regulations which we encourage all members to read and abide by, this is a reminder of the following:

We hope that all members will comply with these rules to make the tennis season this summer more safe and enjoyable for all.


  1. Shoe tags and non-marking tennis shoes must be worn at all times. Appropriate tennis attire is expected. Members are also requested to wear shirts while on the courts.
  2. Upon completion of play, it is the responsibility of the last member leaving the courts to ensure that all non-members have already left the courts and that the entrance gate is securely locked upon departure.
  3. Members shall have priority over non-members at all times of play.
  4. Doubles shall have priority over singles at all times of normal play. If members are waiting to play, refer to rule #5 for sign-in.
  5. If the courts are occupied, members waiting for an available court must sign in for the next time period on the sign-in board. The time periods will be one hour in length and start every quarter hour.
  6. Tournaments, inter-club matches and lessons approved by the Executive shall take priority for court use. Please refer to the website (which will be kept current) or calendar of events.
  7. Juniors will be given priority from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Adult members have priority after 4:00 PM. Juniors will be allowed to play after 4:00 PM, only if playing with a parent or adult legal guardian. Juniors are permitted to play on Saturdays and Sundays, during any open period.
  1. Spectators are NOT allowed inside the fenced court area while games are in progress. Bikes, skateboards and inline or roller skates are also NOT allowed inside the fenced area. Bikes must be kept locked outside the courts in the bike racks provided.
  2. Players and spectators are expected to respect the rights of other players. Shouting, swearing and heckling will not be tolerated.
  3. The practice board on Court 4 is to be used only if players are not using it.
  4. Court 4 is designated as the Practice Court when using a basket of tennis balls (ie, more than 3 or 4 tennis balls), ONLY IF no members are waiting for a court.
  5. Club members or club-appointed court monitors/supervisors will enforce the above rules.

Dr. Martin L. Dobkin Community Park is a large 30 acre park in central Mississauga with a soccer field, a softball diamond, a baseball diamond, a play area right beside the tennis courts, and public restroom facilities.

You may park in the small parking lot located off Central Parkway, just west of Confederation Parkway (west of Father Michael Goetz High School). The courts cannot be seen from the parking lot - just walk southward past the baseball diamond to get to the courts.

There is another small parking lot at the south entrance of the park, located off Fairvew Rd W. The tennis courts are northward past the softball diamond and the soccer field.
